Drawing Tool

Sometimes, when creating a project, you need something to draw a circle or call out a specific area in a speedy way. Using Visme, you can draw, sketch and jot highlights and even your own free-form artwork to communicate visually. Here’s how:

1
Once in the editor window of your project, click on the Basics tab located in the sidebar on the left of the screen. From there, click on the Pencil icon at the top right corner.

2
The drawing tool will appear at the top left corner of your screen from where you will be able to select the brush type, color, and thickness. Select your drawing preferences and let your imagination run wild!

Here are ways you can start incorporating the Drawing Tool into your projects:

1- Draw an arrow to point to a specific area of a diagram/flowchart, and then add a text box to explain what the arrow is pointing to. The arrow can have a more “sketch” kind of look and strong contrast in color from the rest of the design, which is a great way to change up the look of the visuals and draw the eye’s attention to what the arrow is pointing to.

2- Circle a key concept on the design you wish to highlight for the viewer or while you are presenting. You can then animate the circle to come in on click – which is an added “pop” to the information while you are presenting your project live in the present mode.

3- You can have a bit of fun by drawing a doodle within a section of the project. This can be a great touch to social media graphics, newsletters, announcements, and other materials you create that tend to have more playfulness in the content and design.

4- A solution for creating a signature on a project. Instead of uploading a signature, you can write out your signature yourself using the draw tool and pop it on a newsletter, email, infographic or formal document. You’ll also be able to adjust the colors of your signature to match your brand theme.

5- It provides you with flexibility – sometimes if an icon, object, or image doesn’t have all the elements you are looking for, you’re able to add to it with that free-hand element of drawing. You’re able to add in those elements that you feel are missing to really up the visual impacts of your content.
