Inserting Slides & Blocks In Different Projects/Formats

You’ve created content in a slide or block in one Project, and you’d like to use it in another. But how? Depending on the format of your Projects, there are three different methods  you can use to accomplish this task. First, make sure both Projects are open in separate tabs (of your web browser or the Visme desktop app).

Method 1: Copy & Paste Slides

You can right-click a Slide and select Copy to place it on your computer’s clipboard.

Next, navigate to your other Project by selecting its tab from the top. Then right-click the Slides menu in that Project and select Paste. This will work even if your projects are different Visme formats (i.e., copying from a Document and pasting to a Presentation).

If one of the Projects you are hoping to copy and paste content from is an Infographic, then please see Method 3 below. Infographics use content Blocks, not slides, so copying and pasting slides will not work with this format.

Method 2: Using the Slide Library (Presentations)

1
Another way you can insert slides from multiple Presentations is by using Slide Library. Click the gear icon of your slide (top left corner of the slide in the Slides menu),and select Save to Library.

Enter a name for your new Library Slide and click Save.

2
Next, navigate to your other Project by selecting its tab from the top. Scroll to the Slides menu and select + New Slide.

In the pane that appears, select My Library, find your new Library slide, and click + Insert.

Note: To learn more about how to use the Slide Library, check out this resource.

Method 3: Using My Blocks (All Formats)

1
If your Projects aren’t Presentations, don’t despair! Click and drag to select all of the objects you’d like to use in your other Project. In this example, all of the objects of a Presentation slide have been selected.

2
With the objects selected, navigate to the top menu and click Save to my blocks.

Name your new saved block, choose its Save destination, and add any necessary Tags. When finished, click OK.

3
Next, navigate to your other Project (any format) by selecting its tab from the top. In this example, the destination Project is an Infographic. Navigate to the left sidebar, select the Basics tab, then select My Blocks.

Find your new block in the list that appears, then click and drag the block onto the Canvas.

4
Using the cornet dots, click and drag to resize the block so that it fits the Canvas dimensions for the new Project.

With your block now resized, you’ve successfully added your created content across multiple formats!
