Managing Private Files and Folders in Visme

Visme allows users to make files and folders Private, keeping sensitive content visible only to themselves and workspace admins. This feature is ideal for teams handling confidential assets or proprietary content, ensuring that only authorized users can access certain files or folders.

Note: This feature is only available for Enterprise users.

From the Editor window or the main Dashboard in Visme, navigate to My Files using the left-side menu.

Find the file or folder you want to make private, and hover over it.

Click the Settings Menu (three dots on folders or gear icon on assets) to open the available actions.

Finally, turn the Make Private switch ON to secure your file or folder.Once activated, the selected file or entire folder will be marked as private.

What to Expect

– Marked files and folders stay private: Only you, the asset owner, and the workspace admins can see them.

– Privacy applies automatically inside folders: Any files or subfolders inherit the private status.

– Smart behavior when moving items: Moving something out of a private folder removes its inherited privacy, and vice versa if you add an asset to a private folder.

– Clear visibility throughout Visme: Private items are easily recognizable in list view, thumbnails, the editor, and on mobile.

– Manage multiple items efficiently: Make multiple files or folders private at once with the Bulk Actions and filter by private items for easy access.
