Hello, how can we help you?

Using Visme’s slide manager you can add, duplicate, remove and modify the order of slides with ease.

Although slides are often used for presentations, they also have a great use case for transitional projects.

For example one can time slides to form short animations with each topic contained in its own slide, or create multiple slides for a slideshow type gallery of pictures or even rich graphics (where you can combine images, text and media) which are fairly commonly used for website landing pages or also called “Hero Shots”

How to add slides

1
To add a new slide, click on the right panel.   This will open the panel and allow you to access the “+” tab as shown:

2
Click “+” and you will have the option to create a new slide from one of the available templates. You can also start with a blank template which will contain no content and allow you to add your own content from scratch.

3
Select the template for the new slide from the options available,

Select Slides from Template to add to Presentation

4
Once you select your slide template, it will appear on your design and be placed in the next position on the right panel.

How to duplicate slides

Duplicating the slide is a way to maintain the style of your presentation as well as to save time for adding new content that is similar in format to your prior slides.

1
To duplicate a slide, rollover the slide you wish to duplicate and then click the setting (gear) button on the top left.

2
Using the drop-down menu, select Duplicate. The slide will then be duplicated and placed into the bottom of the slides panel.

3
You can then go to the newly created slide and modify to your needs.

How to rename slides

By default slides are named by Visme according to the order and duplication process or by the template’s slide name if you are creating slides from a Visme theme.

Naturally you may want to rename your slides which can serve as a good reference point for future use.

To rename a slide click on the name of the slide which will in turn make the title editable for update.

How to hide slides

There may be times when you want to keep a slide hidden from viewers. Hiding a slide is a good way to keep your work accessible, while only showing slides which are needed at the time.

To hide a slide:

For example you may use a hidden slide as a template but want to make it hidden on published file.

1
Select slides to see all of the slides in your presentation.

2
To hide, click on the gear icon located on top left of selected slide and then select the Hide Slide.

3
The slide will now have a “X” covering over it on the right panel indicating it is hidden.

Tip:
It will be viewable in editor but hidden when you Publish or Download.

How to delete slides

To delete a slide click on the slide you wish to remove from your project.

1
Select slides to see all of the slides in your presentation.

2
Click on the gear located on top left of selected slide and then select the Delete Slide. Using the cursor, roll over the slide you would like to delete and select the gear icon at the top left of the slide, for the settings,

3
Using the drop-down menu, select Delete. The slide will then be permanently deleted from your presentation.

Tip:
Deleting a slide is a permanent action. Once you delete a slide the action is not reversible.

Slide transitions (link to slide transition)

For your presentation, each slide will be assigned a default transition, depending on the template that you have chosen.

You have options for the way slides transition in your presentation and each slide can be assigned a different transition, with effects, advance to next slide, after a specific time, or when an embedded video has finished. You can apply the transition to one slide, or to all slides.

You can introduce and modify transition effects by selecting the transition icon located on the very top right of your “Slides” tab.

add-slide-transition

You have various options to manage the transition settings including:

Transition between slides

Turning on the option will remove the default option (where slides are static and don’t automatically transition to the next without the user action).

Transition effects between slides

Once you turn on the Transition between slide, you can apply the time for the transition. For example a setting of 3 seconds means that at after 3 seconds of the current slide being shown, Visme will automatically transition to the next slide.

Transition Effects

From the dropdown option you can choose the type of Transition effect for your selected slide.  You can have different effects between your slides unless you turn on the Apply to all slides option.

Apply to all sides:  You can decide if the transition of current slide should be applied to all of your slides or just the current one.

Tip:
You can only have the “Apply to all slides” turned on for one slide at a time.
