How to add Alternative Text to objects in your Visme project

With Visme, you can improve accessibility by adding alternative text to objects in your online designs. This feature ensures that all users, including those with visual impairments, can access your content through descriptive text read by screen readers. You can apply Alternative Text to any design object in Visme. Here’s how:

Click on the object or grouped objects to which you want to add Alternative Text. This can be any visual element within your design, such as an image, icon, or shape.

Right-click on the object, and a menu will appear. From the options, select Alternative Text.

Note: Alternatively, you can open the Object List from the right-side panel and right click on the object find the Alternative Text option.

A text box will appear at the right of the screen where you can enter your Alternative Text description. You have up to 250 characters to provide a clear and concise description of the object.

If the object is purely decorative and does not need a description for accessibility, you can check the option to Mark as Decorative. This will remove the Alternative Text from the object, as decorative elements do not impact the overall content.

Once you’ve added the description or marked the object as decorative, click Save to apply the changes to your design.

You’re done. Your designs are now accessible to a broader audience.
