Erase & Replace objects from an image

Looking to remove unwanted elements from a photo? How about replacing them with something else? Whether it’s cleaning up backgrounds, tidying compositions by replacing objects, or enhancing overall visual appeal, Visme’s Erase & Replace feature empowers you to achieve professional-level edits effortlessly. Simply draw over the area you want to change, specify what you want to appear, and witness the magic happen. Follow this guide to learn how to refine your images and improve the quality of your projects.

Open your project and select the image you wish to edit. Then, look for the Edit images menu at the top left of your screen.

From there, click on Edit, and a pop-up menu will appear on the left side. At the top of this menu, you’ll find four touch-up tools: Erase & Replace, Background Remover, Unblur, and Upscaler. Select Erase & Replace.

To erase something from the photo, select Erase and draw over the area you want to remove.

Note: Move the thickness bar right or left to adjust the brush size from thinner to thicker.

Click on Erase to proceed and view the results. If you’re satisfied with the outcome, click on Apply to save the changes, or click on Discard to repeat the process.

To Erase & Replace

To Erase & Replace something from the photo, select Replace and draw over the area you want to replace.

Note: Move the thickness bar right or left to adjust the brush size from thinner to thicker.

Click on Next to proceed and describe what you’d like to generate in the highlighted area. Click on Generate. If you’re satisfied with the outcome, click on Apply to save the changes, or click on Regenerate to repeat the process

That’s it! You can now add filters or edit your image to align with the visual outcome you need.

Note: The Visme AI provides credits for both free and premium plans, which are renewed monthly. In shared workspaces, each user has their own allocation of credits:

To check the number of credits you possess, navigate to the templates library and click on the Create with Visme AI button. A pop-up window will appear, displaying at the top right corner the amount of available credits you currently have.
