Brand Kit: How to Create and Use Color Palettes in Visme

Creating a color palette in Visme helps you establish a consistent and professional look across all your projects. Whether you want to match your brand colors or experiment with new shades, this guide will walk you through building a cohesive color palette that enhances your designs and simplifies color selection. Here’s how:

Requirements: Brand Kit is available on Pro and above. Basic and Starter users can add colors manually within individual projects but cannot save palettes to the Brand Kit.

How to create a Color Palette

1
In your Visme dashboard, click the My Brand tab in the left sidebar.

2
Within the Brand Assets section, open the Colors tab to view your current palettes.

3
Click Add Colors to create a new palette.

4
A new Color Palette box will appear. Click the Plus (+) button to add a color — use the color wheel or enter a specific HEX code.

5
Set each color as Primary or Secondary by selecting the circle checkboxes in the top-right corner of the palette box.

6
Double-click the palette title to rename it to something clear and recognizable.

How to use your color palettes inside a project

1
Open your project and click on any shape, text box, or object you want to recolor.

2
From the left-side menu, click the Color tile to open the color panel.

3
Your Brand Color Palettes will appear, organized by Primary, Secondary, and the names you assigned. Click any color to apply it to the selected element.

Common issues

I don’t see my Brand Colors in the color panel | Brand Colors only appear if your workspace has a Brand Kit set up and you are on Pro or above. If you recently added the palette, try refreshing the editor.

I can’t find the Add Colors button | Make sure you are inside the Colors tab within Brand Assets in the My Brand section. This option is not available on Basic or Starter plans.
